November 2011 update

Prayer update of Life and Ministry of Christian Outdoor and Ethics workbooks.

Dear friends,

I started the second part of my university degree in teaching during the last weeks. It has already been 5 weeks since I came back from the US. I was there with the Men's exchange program. I was able to visit my support churches and meet up with important coworkers: Ken Pitcher (Small group pastor in Grace Road church Rochester NY), Doug Franklin (director of Leadertrack in Chicago, IL) Joel Vermilion (outdoor guide of Wilderness ministry institute in Portland OR). This time when I was away from the Czech Republic and my ministry, it was very big recharge for me to continue and I also came to understand better the areas where we have to invest and continue. I understand that my biggest enemy is my old nature and the pressure of ministry demands and finances. This all is leading me to work harder and not to go closer to God. I need to be purified and transformed and put away a lot of good things which are preventing me from God's best.

Our big project of textbooks of ethics is in its preparation phase. We will finally start in January 2012 and now we are forming the group of authors who will write the textbooks and prepare the film script for the pilot version of Ethics episode for schools. I will oversee the area of textbook printing, the group of authors and the video series creation.

To be able to handle this new challenge I had to reduce my activities. I am about to finish my beloved area of Josiah Venture Education activities, my regional activities of Children outreach in Ostrava, and organizing mission trips. In men's movement I will organize my last Men conference in January 2012 - The Path of a Man (Cesta muže). It is always great when we finish and there are prepared people who will faithfully continue.  To finish well is a big challenge.

My long-term orientation continues in the area of:

  • Christian Outdoor (KO) - local ministry and national development of outdoors guides.
  • Ethics with special focus on the network of Christian teachers.

This week I was organizing Holocaust lessons at schools. Our guest speaker was Thomas Graumann, a Jewish child rescued from dying in the concentration camps during World War II. Over 300 young people had the opportunity to hear his testimony. He was openly sharing the Gospel and one teacher really feared the parent's reaction.  Bring light into the darkness is always a spiritual battle and our country is a very dark place.

I will appreciate if you join me in prayers:

  • Thanks for the Czech and US partners who support my ministry. Actually I am missing only $400 monthly in my budget.
  • Good start of the Ethics projects that bring the Christian values through Christian authors.
  • Organization of December Snowboard camp, and for unbeliever friends who will apply.
  • Our Local church and our decision for the future: either to build anew building or to send a part of the church to plant a new church in a Bohemian city with no church.
  • For Our family that I and Naďa could provide wise and spiritually inspiring support for our daughters and their many friends.

Thank you that you are part of the ministry I can do in the Czech Republic.
